Our Story My name is Ana, owner and creator of Paws for Lavender. When one of my beloved Newfoundland dogs, Kekoa, developed skin allergies as a result of the harsh chemicals found in many commercial grooming products, I began to research natural alternatives and discovered the healing properties of aromatherapy and its use for an array of skin care and emotional issues. Respect for our environment, my lifelong love and care for animals, and the desire to offer a natural and holistic alternative to the use of chemicals and synthetic fragrances, inspired me to become a Certified Dog Groomer and a Certified Aromatherapist. With a holistic approach to pet care and grooming, in 2005 I opened a home-based grooming business called Aromatherapy Dog. I established a spa atmosphere for my grooming clients by incorporating soothing music, therapeutic canine massage and aromatherapy. I seek to expand awareness of the benefits of holistic aromatherapy products for dogs and their habitats, by educating pet owners about the detrimental effect chemicals may have on pets’ health and on our environment.
